The Vatican Secret Archives will be present at the XXVII edition of the «Salone Internazionale del Libro» (International book fair) held in the Lingotto of Turin, from May 8th to 12th, within the wider initiative undertaken by the Holy See, special guest of the prestigious event.

The Holy See will be present, with a stand representative of the of the Vatican publishing initiatives and of the historical relationship of the Church and the Popes with the books and the arts, by the organization of a documentary exhibition hosting remarkable works from the Vatican Library, the Vatican Secret Archives, the Vatican Museums and the Pontifical Commission for Sacred Archaeology.

In the occasion the Vatican Secret Archives will exhibit four original documents related to Turin: the autograph letter by Charles Albert, king of Sardinia to Pius IX (Vigevano, August 10th, 1848), the letter with the autograph signature by Camillo Benso, count of Cavour, to the deputy of the Apostolic Nunciature in Turin (Turin, July 20th, 1859), the autograph letter by Victor Emmanuel II, king of Italy, to Pius IX (Florence, September 8th, 1870), the autograph letter of Saint John Bosco to Pope Pius IX (Turin, October 29th, 1876).
